His research focuses on remote sensing of natural surfaces in the optical field. It cover both the understanding of the physics of radiometric signals (spectroradiometry, calibration problems, atmospheric corrections) and the development of mathematical tools for data analysis (radiative transfer models, multispectral analysis, inversion of mathematical models). He is currently working on the determination of multiscale roughness and soil surface moisture by optical remote sensing.

Benoit LAURENT

His research focuses on 3D modeling of the cycle of desert aerosols to study their emissions, atmospheric concentrations and deposition, and to assess their climate and biogeochemical impacts. It is based on the development of the CHIMERE regional chemistry-transport model and the observation of desert aerosols from satellite observations and in situ measurements.
