Description of the SECO programme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La formation SECO est centr\u00e9e sur l\u2019enseignement des bases physiques fondamentales de la t\u00e9l\u00e9d\u00e9tection, des techniques les plus avanc\u00e9es de traitement de donn\u00e9es et de leurs applications pour la pr\u00e9paration et l\u2019analyse des observations de la Terre et des plan\u00e8tes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This second year, which may be taught in English depending on the cohort of students, offers core courses and two options to choose from among seven. During the year, the programme offers a series of seminars led by experts, practical remote sensing work in the field or using digital technology, an observation internship at the Haut-Provence Observatory, a week-long workshop on artificial intelligence and satellite data analysis at ESA (Italy), and visits to the EUMETSAT and ESOC operational centres (Germany). The year ends with a minimum four-month internship in a laboratory or industry (longer internships and internships abroad are also possible). There are generally between five and ten times more internship opportunities than there are students in the year group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, we admit a cohort of around 15 students who are either in the first year of a Master\u2019s degree in geosciences, physics or mathematics, in their second year at an engineering school, or who already hold an engineering degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are selected on the basis of their application. The selection process may include an interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International mobility grants are awarded for study projects lasting one academic year and are intended for foreign students who wish to enrol in our Master’s programme, in M1 and\/or M2.
